Sound Builders has been serving Puget Sound homeowners since 1976. Initially, we specialized in restoration work. The expertise gained there was passed from father to son in 1995 when Jay DePhelps became president. At that time, we shifted our company's focus to high-quality remodeling - specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and some tenant improvement projects. Since then, we have expanded into aging-in-place projects and home remodels that accommodate individuals with special needs and disabilities.

Jay DePhelps, President
In addition to his decades of hands-on experience, Jay has expanded his personal knowledge base with formal training in building-industry and business disciplines:
- CGR – Certified Graduate Remodeler
- CAPS – Certified Aging in Place Specialist
- EPA Lead-Safe Certification
- Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Washington State University
- MBA, Washington State University

- Brings more than 25 years experience in administrative and support roles and has been with Sound Builders since 2006
- In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for Special Olympics
Russell Good: Russell Good, Lead Carpenter
- Has over 20 years of construction experience
- Likes seeing the finished project (Kitchen, Bath, Addition, etc.) that he helped create
- Florida native who moved here in 2011 with his wife and daughter
- Loves the mountains, outdoors and exploring our beautiful state
